Friends, I've wanted to do this for a very, very long time... since I was a kid.

I've always thought the high relief Saint Gaudens double eagle was, beyond doubt, the single finest coin our fine nation has ever produced. I also thought I would never own one. Well, finally I do. (at least for now)

I've avoided Saints for a while. I guess I got a little jaded. They're everywhere, and even an MS64 can be had any day. I lost the sense of awe and wonder at how fabulous these coins truly are. As BB King once said "The Thrill Is Gone".

Well, the thrill is back !

I'm truly honored to hold this one in my hand. I tip my hat to those who made it possible - President Roosevelt, Augustus Saint Gaudens, and dozens of unsung heroes involved in the minting of these masterpieces.

    Thanks, guys.

Coins like this are why I'm in the business. I call 'em "lifetime achievement awards"... the kind of coin one waits decades for. The kind of coin someone has wanted since they were kids, and finally score decades later.

The only down side is this - we won't have this one long. We can't afford to lock down this much capital. But that's the sweet part of being in business - we often handle biggies we could not touch if we were collectors.

Soon, this will be someone else's lifetime achievement award. It's a joy to add to the joy of others.

That's spectacular! Congrats. Looks nicer than MS61. I would have guessed 62/63.
