When I received these coins, I could not believe how amazing they where in hand. All have full steps, I used my loop to make sure.
    I hope you enjoy them

Arn't proof nickels or any proof coins just beautiful to look at. I specially like that 81s, my birth year. I have a roll of 64's and a few are starting to get some nice tonning on them, couple of blues and one has a very faint rainbow tone to the obverse side I want to send it in to be graded just dont have the money yet.

Yeah I love proofs also. You can really get a nice look at the design for a cheap price.

Hey alan, very nice proof jeffys you got there. Just wanted to say though, all Jeff proofs will have full steps. Well at least I have never seen one that didn't. Either way, I am a Jefferson nut!

The mint mark on the 1989 looks so big, compared to the others.

Unless it is a HIGH grader don't bother slabbing it unless you want to be out a lot of money.

Just wanted to say that the 1981-S you have is the 1st of two types of the Jefferson Nickel Proof from that year. The 1981-S Type 2 has a more open S (more like you see on the 1982 Proof as opposed to the blob like or chunky S from previous years) and the second type is less common. These are all beautiful proofs but keep your eye out for the 1981-S Type 2 and remember that there are also two types in 1979 with the same difference in the mintmarks.

Your eyes do not deceive you. For the 1985-S and beyond they added the mintmark to the hub and master dies so they all have the same placement. The new mintmark is uniformly open and a little bit bigger looking.

Also this series of proofs you prove to be great examples of the variance in the "Cameo" look which is more prevalent in the later years, as opposed to the 1960 proof you have, in which you can see it blends in with the background. Also, until 1967 when San Francisco started doing the Proofs, the 1960's Nickels seem a little less defined due to worn dies or poor strikes. The obverse of the 1960 Proof has that mushy look but the reverse is very well defined to the point that I must ask whether that is the reverse to that coin....if so, impeccable! Because the Reverse under the 1961 looks more like the reverse of the 1960 I am familiar with.

Great coins, great pictures and thanks for sharing!
    Raul
