Just back from the Philadelphia Mint

This morning I took a ride down to the mint. The change machine is working again, its been out of service for a momth. Put in a dollar and get of the new Vicksburg, put in a fiver and get 5 Ruterford B Hayes dollars. Also they have the Buffalo 2 coin set slabed by ANACS MS70 & PR70 for $999.00.

After reading this I'll make a side trip to the mint when I go to Whitman coin show Sep 15th. I went in 1984 and 1982 and some other year. 1982 was a good year I Picked up a few souvenir sets. The only reason i remember 82&84 was the souvenir sets.

What is the Buffalo 2 coin set?

 

In 2001 the mint made a 2 coin set. Proof (P) & Unc (D) of the 1oz. Silver Buffalo. It sold out in a matter of days.

 

Cool. Is the mint selling these sets or the coin show?

 

dwhiz is saying that the mint had a graded set for sale there. Dealers & ebay would be the other choices for around $300 per set.

About 21 days as a matter of fact. (The 50,000 mintage coin and currency set sold out in four days. Most people remember the four day sell out but think it applied to all the silver buffalos.)
