The one I found most recently came from somewhere in Utah, so about 600 miles.

not really, you just assume that. i've hit 3 bills that were not marked. people always say "you have a better chance of getting hit by lightning" and i've done that too!

so what are the odds that 2 unmarked bills would get a hit? because, as i said before, i don't mark my bills and i have 2 hits.

Yes, it can very well work without stamping/marking the notes. Over at EBT, we (my account, ie. a friend and I) have entered about 3,000 notes within a couple of years, and have had 12 hits. And that is ho-hum by EBT standards; other users - who focus on the low denominations more than I do - have much better "hit ratios". :)

9roswell and swish513 - I must say, that's pretty remarkable. How many unmarked bills have you entered?

A couple of yrs ago, I had a WG bill tracker on my website's homepage. They emailed me and demanded that I take it down. :D

close to 1100. the 1st one took 2 months to get a hit, the 2nd took just over a month.

I have never stamped a note myself but I do enter previously-stamped notes as I receive them in change. Since 2007 I have entered 10 notes. Only one note has a hit after I recorded it. That was a $10 bill that someone received in change 83 miles away and 131 days later.

As has been stated, the WG program has been around for the past decade, or so. Earlier on, the marked bills that passed through my hands were rather crisp or otherwise in good condition. The ones lately, in addition to being fewer, have the appearance of having been circulated through a war zone. They are in such poor shape that they are ready to be removed from circulation.

Anyone finding newly issued WGs, or at least in crisp condition? Just curious.

Received two over the weekend during a strap search. Picked up the notes at the Wells Fargo in Franktown, CO...
    1. Originated from a vending machine in Denver about 3 months prior...
    2. Almost two years circulated, originating from upstate PA...

I draw a "Kilroy was here", and free them into circulation...

I am a 'Georger' having entered over 55,000 bills and was curious to see where the 2001 bill you pictured had originated from but Hank has blocked it.
www.wheresgeorge is not only a fun hobby but very educational as well. I have found and sold lots of bills that collectors were looking for. Prior to 'Georging' I would never have given paper currency a second glance.
