A couple of weeks ago someone had listed two Icelandic coins on ebay...One was a 1929 10 Aurar and the otherwas a 1929 1 Krona. The 1929 10 Aurar I had seen before on a sellers web site about 1 1/2 years ago and they were selling it for $85,,,,I have been thinking of buying this coin from them but never got around to buying it. Well the seller listed it on ebay with another coin ,,the 1929 1 Krona,,which wasn't listed on there site. Both coins looked very good so I place a bid on both of them and won both coins,,,I payed $14.50 for the 10 Auar and $5.50 for the 1 Krona. I recieved the coins last week and was very surpriced to see that both coins are uncirculated,,, both coins are toned and the 1 Krona has a non PVC film on it that can removed by NCS ,,like they did for me in the past. Not bad for only $20 bucks since both coins together go for $350. Here is the sellers pic he posted on ebay of the 1929 1 Krona. Here is the sellers pic of the 1929 10 Auar. What neat about this coin other then its a UNC is that its a Mid-Range Die State Varitiy for the 29/9.
Thank You ......woodsman Your Wrong ......Texas John,,,There's 27 people that collects Icelandic coins...LOL And thats the beauity of it that there are so few collectors of these coins, But never got such a good deal like this in the 8 years of collecting them. Thank You ......Texas John
That was a great buy Icemand57, It will be interesting to see the outcome from NCS/NGC. Texas John, I have called everyone one up that collects Icelandic coins and we agree that we are very offended that you made fun of us. Even though we ARE only 27 there is no need to point fingers and laugh. You will never be forgiven ! Yes you will but only if you buy the first round at our annual collectors meeting in Greenland this winter. It will be held just above the second E
TAKE THAT ,,,Texas John..LOL. If you do come to our annual meeting this winter in Greenland ,,You better bring your swimming trunk's,, Because we all are members of the Polor Bear club and you have to be the first one in,,,,Psst.. Siggi should we tell him why he has to be the first one in,,,Noooooo ....You know if he's eaten by the popar bears then we all,,,, 27 of us know that its safe for the rest of us to jump in......
And don't let that timid exterior fool you.....They have been known to bring down a 800 lbs Reinder's
I must agree ....Resistance is futile,,,,,When it comes to this little bunny. But there all killers no matter how you look at them.....LOL
You guys have included Mark in your count of Icelandic coin collectors right? Maybe there's really 28 of that rare breed. Well look, You still got me beat as I only know of 14 counterstamp collectors in the world...and none in Iceland. Bruce
Well I finally got the results from NCS/NGC this afternoon and I'm very happy to say that the coin graded a MS-63. ................................. Now if they would have been able to remove the light finger prints off the coin it would have gotten a grade or maybe two higher.....But since I only payed 5 bucks for the coin ,,,,,I can't complian to much......LOL. Now I have not seen the coin yet and it will not be back home untill sometime next week and I will post a picture of the coin. Well all in all,,,Not bad for a coin I bought off Ebay for $5.00 plus shipping,,,,Now I invested a total of $89.29 for this coin ,,,that is now worth over $250.00 ,,,,,So there are still bargens to be found on Ebay. I wish you all we have the same luck I just had.
