i am having a hard time figuring out if i have one or not. some of the AM are not touching yet they are close together. do i have any?
Way too small a picture. Find a 1991 cent, check out the AM... that's a wide AM. Then look for a similar thing on yours there.
I know from experience that it is VERY hard to tell with the naked eye, so get yourself a high powered magnifying glass. That should help.
Uh, I have no problem, from experience, distinguishing between the two. I've found probably two dozen or more '98's and '00's, and two '99's. I can tell by the naked eye, but I usually use a loupe to confirm it later on. There's only been one or two times I thought I had a WAM and didn't.
It is all in the shape of the ' G ' in the initials of Frank Gasparro the designer of the memorial reverse. It must have a straight vertical leg with a horizontal serif or leg on it. The top of the 'G ' must not pass over the bottom leg. This is a pretty poor explanation so check this 'G ' out: I have never found this ' G ' Oon a 198, 99,or 2000 without the A and M having a space between them. http://www.lincolncentresource.com/wideams.html zeke
again thank you all for the wonderful info . i have found 0 out of 7 rolls BUT i have 7 more to go lol
I've been through several hundred boxes and have a few to show for it... I'd say maybe one in ten boxes yields a WAM. They also seem to come in bunches, at least to me, so don't give up if you don't find one right away.
o i'm not giving up yet it has only been over a month since i started collecting and now my 8 and 10 year old daughters are in to it. Granted we are only into pocket change right now...maybe later we will be into buying coins.....for a good deal lol
this the closest i got put of 32 rolls of pennies lol but i am going to keep trying. i want at least 1
