I've recently aquired a 1912 2 1/2 dollar gold indian head quarter. I cant upload an pictures but I'm stuck wondering if its real or not. I wouldntenerally wonder but when looking up photos on the internet everything looked normal, besides one thing. On my coin, right around the E Pluribus Unum, it says 14k. I'm assuming the means the Karat. I have not seen the marking on any other coin I have seen on the internet.

    Someone please help.

Real US Mint $2.50 Indians don't have 14k on them, sorry :(

Thats what I thought. I paid 20$ for it so the gold value alone is worth more than what I paid for it. I already have one authentic 1912 Indian head. I just jumped on the chance to own two. I now have one real and a nice copy.

I think $20 is about what they sell those 1/10 mil plated replica ones on TV for ;)

I got a nice Silver Injun ! :thumb:

Just because it's stamped 14k doesn't mean it gold. Most Italian gold chains and bracelets are stamped 14k or 18k and all they are is plated

Oh, I know. I know its gold because I tested it. Even with it being gold I will still keep it. I think its neat to sit a fake one next to a real one. They look exactly the same besides that 14k.
