What's wrong with this nickel?

I bought this nickel off of ebay in circulated condition but when I got it I noticed the crack & the two lilttle holes behind the eye and on the forehead. Is this an error?

It looks like a lamination error, which is pretty common on silver nickels.

The crack is a lamination crack. I can't see the holes at the level of resolution provided by your photos.

In case you don't know what a lamination error is, it is when a foreign substance, or gas gets trapped beneath the surface of a coin, causing a piece of metal to come off.

 

I think what he is describing as the "holes" are the normal parts of the design around the cheek and under the hairline.

 

I'm learning so much here :thumb: . I should of realized that was the hair line lol.
