ANA Executive Director Placed on Administrative Leave

"American Numismatic Association Executive Director Larry Shepherd has been placed on administrative leave during an organizational review process, President Tom Hallenbeck has announced".


This from an e-mail I just got from the ANA. Anybody got their ear to the ground on this one? I don't see anything regarding it on the ANA website. Administrative leave usually bodes some kind of wrong doing.

Reminds me of a time when I walked into a situation as the replacement guy. Fun times.

 

I'll bet...... Nothing like keeping a bag over the head of the replacement guy and then, all of a sudden, pulling it off and saying....."go gettum Tiger".

 

Me: "Was it personal or professional."
Boss: "A bit of both."
Me: "Damn."

 

The board was sworn in at the show so maybe there was some swift action following it.

 

Very sorry to hear it. Saw him at the ANA where he was meeting and greeting. Must have been difficult if he knew this was potentially coming.

This comes as news to me. I live just a few miles from ANA Headquarters and I know a good many ANA staff. I would be very interested to learn what happened. In light of what transpired with the previous Executive Director - and based on what I know of Larry and my conversations with him - I would be shocked to learn that Larry was involved in any form of impropriety.

Looks like fit really did hit the shan and there is clean up to be done.

 

I got this e-mail yesterday too. Don't know what's going on but it's a shame. Just renewed my membership yesterday for a few more years. Will be interesting to hear what's going on.

 

"we felt it was something we had to do" Yep that really sounds like something that PCGS would have to censor.

 

And some of us have just not renewed or memberships in how long now?

 

Where did he go to school? :dismay:
