1861 Confederate Coin

    Does the edge have a seam? It is most likely fake.

    The line that you see through this fake coin, which means that the coin is a molded fake:

    It looks too perfect. Is it possible it could be a fake that was struck rather than poured?

    No, the recent copies do not have seams - they are die struck, I have one here:

    This is one of those die struck souvenirs sold mainly in the South, my brother bought this about 20 years ago and carried it as a pocket piece for a couple of years.

    yes, a souvenir piece. They should be plentiful this year being 150th.

    Also, unless you have very small fingertips, the size of the token seems much larger than cent size.
