hey guys just figured out my dads printer has a scanner..lol. this is the only error bill i have. the day i found it was a pretty lucky day. i just got to the store i used to work at and my very first customer handed me a 2004 $20 star note which was in decent cond. well about an hour later i was goin to drop 5 20's in the safe and decided to take a second at um.. well i saw this and almost passed it by but i saw the missing seal and had to put it away so i could buy it. i havent been able to get munch info on them at all though. 20 001 by woodsmen27, on Flickr post your bills and if you found them give us the story
I have a collection of errors from U.S. and Canada. I've posted them in a number of threads: http://www.cointalk.com/t131804/ http://www.cointalk.com/t118663/ http://www.cointalk.com/t136110/ http://www.cointalk.com/t128955/ http://www.cointalk.com/t111420/ http://www.cointalk.com/t122666/ http://www.cointalk.com/t103131/ http://www.cointalk.com/t60417/ http://www.cointalk.com/t81484/ http://www.cointalk.com/t77035/ http://www.cointalk.com/t71664/
It really pays to look at everything that passes through your hands woodsman. Nice catch!:thumb: Steve: That last FRN is so ugly it's beautiful. Bruce
yea ive learned its worth taking the time to check everything lol. anyone have any idea what my note would be worth? steve those are awsome notes! did u find them in circulation?
Thanks woodsman & BRandM. The only errors I find in circulation are minor cutting errors and centering errors. The modern notes of today have better quality control than 20-30 years ago.
Steve, would that be an ink smear, or was a solvent smear part of the error? Looks to be a large area for a simple ink smear. Woodsman, You have an error where part of the overprint is missing. My sister has one of these as well, but refuses to sell it (darn!). Based upon the condition of the note, I would say that your error is worth around $175. Here are my favorite 2 error notes that I own. I'm hoping to find some decent examples of other errors, but I've noticed that they have been increasing in value since even the beginning of this year!
kool thanks for the 411! wow that offset error is awesome! what does the reverse look like? is it normal or does look like the front?
The reverse looks normal. Generally offsets are only on one side of the note, but it would be cool to get one with both sides offset!
