I just figured I would share a quick pic of how my collection is looking now. I sold off some stuff and gave others things away. I know it isn't super impressive, but hey, you do what you can right? :smile I am missing some key dates in the folders, but for the most part they are full and, with the newer ones anyway, are mostly unc. I don't have as much silver as I would like, but I am getting there. I am going to start putting my IHC's in a folder soon and I think I am going to sell off more of my wheats. Anyway, tell me what you think. Thanks.
Not too bad, my collection has gone from something about that size, with less currency, to pretty big just by roll searching.
You might consider getting the 3-compartment pages for your notes to protect them. They're made for a 3-ring notebook. Chris
I have thought about that a couple of times. I just have them all in individual protectors now. I also have thought about getting some 2x2 pages and sticking all of my coins in 2x2 flips in those. If nothing else, just to make it easier to look at them.
Currently, I am not sure. I haven't had it appraised in a while and I have added and removed things since the last time I added it all up. I am not the best at figuring value. I have gotten better at grading, but about the only source of value I have is my 2012 Redbook.
Nice start! My grandmother started by collection back in 1969 with a 1942-S Washington quarter, a 1960 Franklin half dollar, several Winged Liberty dimes and a few Indian Heat cents.
Where do you get those goofy 2x2s with two holes? I've seen them with 3 holes too, and always cent sized. I'm not sure if I like them or not, but I'm just curious as to where people get them.
Nice. My collection for the most part ceased to exist when I became a dealer. But I do miss some of them. Keep up the good work!
That is a really nice collection of coins and specially currency. Please take CPM9ball's advice and protect your currency. I'm just scratching the surface with currency with a pair of uncut 1995 $2 bills, a single 2003A 65PPQ $2 bill, a $1 1957B silver cert., and two fractional first issue notes. But my 1, 5, 10, and 25 cent collections are my, works in progress, pride and joys.
My local dealer had some, so I picked up a five pack to put the unc 2009 Lincoln's I had in. I thought it was neat to have both mints with each other.
Ha, look at all those staples. I guess that's how you have to do it, though. Yeah, I figured they'd be nice for multiple mintmarks of the same year, or the small date/large date. But they do look a little cluttered.
I know right. :smile I was doing good there for a while. I was adding something, even if it was just filling in a hole in a folder, almost everyday. It has slowed recently though. I will keep going though. I will probably use the stuff in the tubes to get other things, so that will trim it down a little. :smile
