Hello I am stumped on whether or not i should gently pat this otherwie fresh fingerprint on this supposedly uncicrculated 1995 silver eagle i purchased earlier today which i did not previously see. So im just wondering iif there are any specific ways to take care of the problem? My current ideas on taking care of the problem are patting a cotton cloth on the fingerprint to see if it goes away although im a bit hesitant not sure if doing that or whatever else will be a "why did i even think to do that " sort of thing so yes. Some helpful advice would be nice and very much appreciated please. Thank you.

Acetone will sometimes lift a fingerprint if it is fresh. You could always sell it and buy another as they trade with the price of silver.

I think I will try the acetone first although sadly not being available at the moment im wodering if pherhaps rbbing alcohol or even nail polish could be possible substitutes? Or are those not recomended.

Do not use nail polish remover, it can eat away the surface only use pure acetone

I assume that you are talking about nail polish remover. If so nail polish remover is acetone but I would be very careful with the amount that you us.

Correct... it is actually only about 60% acetone; it's the other ingredients that cause a problem. If you really want to try an acetone dip (and I don't recommend it to the inexperienced), stop by your local hardware store and get a can of 100% pure. Follow the warning label and you should be OK.

Chances are that the finger print is already etched into the coin. You can try the acetone but I'm thinkin' no positive results. Call AFIS and hunt down the blaggard......:)
