My local dealer just sells them for face value, I bought 50 yesterday ( mainly for tips). He had about 500 laying around. So I can get these for face frequently is what I'm saying. The coins are the typical AU stuff you'd expect, heavy on bicentennials. I looked on ebay last night as an auction was closing. 25 went for $46 + about $5 shipping. Some offer 100 for $135, but the smaller lots seem to get more. I've never sold a thing on ebay. I'm thinking about buying the 500 or so coins and doing it. I guess ebay fees run about 10%, right ? I think it would help me just to have an account for selling whatever ( non-coin stuff) and some positive history, not like I'm planning on getting rich on Ike's.
Fees are about 12% (9% final value and 3% to PayPal) shipping the small flat rate box is about $5.00, insurance or signature service is extra. Not going to get rich on them IMO. BTW looks like the smaller lot actualy netted a better return.
I was surprised to see 25 fetch $46 http://www.ebay.com/itm/LOT-25-EISE...27?pt=Coins_US_Individual&hash=item415c7b444f the same seller has a set of 1967 encyclopedias for $100, I would think that would be worth zero ? I'm unsure about using Craigslist for this, but I have sold a few things on CL before.
I'm not one to tell people on Craigs list I have money for them to comes and get. Heard a few horror stories about that place rather they try to find where my mail box is at than my house.
