Does anyone use PNC to get dimes? I opened an acct there and they were kind enough to supply me a with a box of brand new 2011p dimes. Hope they are not all like that every time.

Yes they are all originating from the same spot - run by Dunbar

Gotta head to a different state to get different boxes

    2010 Silver Proof Set

I was planning on buying one of these today after I cashed my check....$64.95

Then when I got back from lunch they said it was not available, must be because of the run up on silver today.

You're lucky you even got a box. They told me they would order me a box every week, which apparently mean pretty much never. So now they're actually my dump bank. But as for all new dime, that has never happened to me.

Picked up my usual two boxes of halves today after they hadn't ordered them last week. Best boxes in awhile.

    Box 1 : 5 40% 2 90%
    Box 2 : 4 40% 1 90%

Im so Mad, A freind of mine called me from her bank today, Shes always on the look out for odd coins, and i always ask her to pull the rejects from her counting machine for me, ect. But its been tough trying to show her what to look for. so antway she called me and said a customer brought in a roll of quarters, bank rapped and sealed. she said it was very heavy and she opened it and all quarters from the thirtys poped out. I was very excited because normally she will bring them over for me, well this time she went to the jewerlly store and cashed them in at 5 dollars as quarter, shes said they where very shinny almost like new looking. i told her after all the crape you bring me, you finally get somthing good and cash it in. i guess i shouldnt have told about silver weight, again another roll gone to the melt. who knows what they had. I told her i could of gotten her more about a ettra 100-150, that showed her

    Not SMS imho.

Five boxes of dimes today, first two came from TD and were skunks (shocker) third, fourth and fifth were a different supplier and produced a total of 10 silver dimes. 8 Roosies, 1 merc, and 1 Canadian silver.

Also did 1 box of halves, and one bag with $499.50. The box gave up a 40%er and a '64, and the bag gave up a lonely Frankie. Did also get a 40%er out of a tellers tray. Not a bad day, eh?

Then I went to my dealer near me and dug through his silver... got a nice, FB Merc, a few other MS Mercs, and an 1895-S dime for melt. The 1895-S is a pretty sweet score, books at $44 in G4.

I had quite the busy day. I headed into Philly after an appt and got into Center City about 10:45 wearing Jeans and a T-Shirt with about $1400 in hand. By about 1:15 PM I had close to $860 in Teller Tray halves, a full box, and BWR's in my backpack. I'm sweating like a pig as I had walked about a grand total of 25 city blocks. I just couldn't take it any more so I went back to the car.

I checked all the halves when I got back towards home and cashed in. I picked 2 of my 3 boxes of halves from one of my pick up banks. I decided to hit a Bank of America that I've only stopped at once. I asked if they had any halves and this girl jumps up right away with the old...'How Many Do You Want?' I tell her I have $360 (whats left after lunch, snacks, and city parking). She says she has $1000 available. I'm thinking sweet. I'll get the rest tomorrow. Until....EVERY SINGLE ROLL had a nice razor blade slit in the side and was taped up with industrial clear tape. I'm thinking....great...now I got someones dumps. That's what they were. WHO DOES THAT? Are you kidding me. There are only about 10,000 banks in the Greater Philly area with coin counters. What a loser.

So - I rip them all open throw them in my bags and head off to TD Bank again. Cashed in that garbage and grabbed a box of dimes and nickels. Normally I'd be PO'd about the dump guy whos been peppering my area, but my totals for the day are:

    Halves:
    1 x 1954 Franklin
    3 x 1964 Kennedy
    5 x 1967 Kennedy
    2 x 1968 Kennedy
    1 x 1969 Kennedy
    1 x 1987P Kennedy

    Ikes:
    1 x 1972 Clad
    1 x 1974 Clad

    Dimes:
    1 x 1964 Rosie

    Nickels (Run on the 40's):
    1 x 1942 War
    1 x 1945 War
    ----------------
    2 x 1940
    4 x 1941
    4 x 1946
    5 x 1947
    1 x 1948
    1 x 1949
    and 8 from the 1950's....
    No Buffalos or V's today

All in all a very good day for these parts! :D

Not bad, Ace. I'm definitely gonna hunt out philly a bit later in the year when it cools down cause I sweat a ton no matter if its five blocks or twenty, lol.

What route did you take through the city?

Merc - I can handle the sweating, it was the backpack that got to be too much. It was like giving my son a piggback ride from JFK Blvd to Rittenhouse Sq then back to Broad and up to the Broad street exit from 676. I was done!
