Hey does anyone know how much a 1922 weak D Die number 3 value is. I got it graded at EF40. Any help would be great. thanks!!!
Are you sure that says "weak reverse" and not "weak D"? If it is a weak reverse, prices run all over the map. At Heritage, they can go from $600 to $1200
I would have to say from the pic, it looks like a weak D. The letters in many of the words are very weak which would mean that the "D" was not struck well.
The second "2" in the date looks much stronger than I would expect for a #3 obverse. I agree with the weak "D" part. Do you have a photo of the reverse? And Welcome to the forum. Jim
Has the no D variety been attributed on the slab? If so, that's a REAL nice coin....however, I find it hard to believe it's a DP3 with that strong of a second 2 in the date. Also, these are very rare in EF grade.
Everything I see on it looks correct for die pair #3 - including the date. Look at #3 here; http://lincolncentresource.com/1922Ddievarieties.html. It is hard to tell the second @ is "weak". Also, I can specifically exclude all other die pairs; DP#! - TRUST is not TRUST DP#2 - The I, E, and R in LIBERTY are too strong on this coin DP#4 - Abe's bust is not on the rim However, I still question whether it is a weak"D" or a weak reverse.
