So I am attempting to collect the whole 2009 $1 District set. This is the first District set I have collected and was wondering if anyone knew what, if any, of the scarcer districts are? So far I have been able to get most of the East Coast ones, but cannot find a Miineapolis or St. Louis. Either star note or regular would be fine (I prefer stars though).

Anyway, does anyone know if all districts have been printed?

The 2009 $1 has been printed for all twelve districts. But the Minneapolis and Kansas City districts didn't go into production until this past May, so it may take a while for them to get through the distribution pipeline.

At the moment, Minneapolis has the lowest production total at 44.8 million, with the other eleven districts all having at least a full block printed.

Stars have been printed only for districts A, B, D, G so far. But the series is still in production, of course, so we'll likely see a few more districts get star printings at some point. It's quite unlikely that all twelve districts will have stars printed, though; the last time that happened was in Series 1981.

For the details, see here.

Thanks for the reply and the link numbers. I never get Minneapolis, and the production date may be why I haven't seen some of the others as of yet.

Thanks RJK3. I'm trying to not have to buy them through an online auction house, but will have to if I can't find Unc examples.

I would think that over time, you should be able to get all 12 districts in very nice condition through circulation if you do any amount of strap searching.

I've been able to put together 95% of a 2006 block set, which has 112 notes not counting split blocks and 122 notes with split blocks, in less than a year. Three quarters of the bills are XF- or better, which is good enough for me.

And yes, I've already started working on a 2009 block set as well. Obviously there's plenty of blocks that haven't yet been printed, so that's a work in progress.

If you are interested in working on a 2006 block set, here's a checklist that I put together: http://forums.wheresgeorge.com/blog.php?cp=17

Thanks Doug. Now I have an idea of how long it *should* take to get a set. I'm still looking and collecting notes in less than desirable condition for now. i"ll upgrade when I find the right notes!

Awww man I found a CHCU Minniapolis '09 $1 yesterday in some stacks. It was the first one of that district I've seen. I found in Sacramento, California. Do you need any San Francisco's? I can get you as many of those as you need lol :)
