Sorry my photos arent that great. I was thinking of selling it, and i was wondering what i could get for it
Genuine not gradable. Net G-VG price. Try taking the pics in a little less light, more diffused, and put your camera in macro mode, doesn't look like it is then. Even better, set it on a solid surface and prop the cent up on it's rim against something to get a better picture without worrying about image stabilization screwing with it.
I'm not good with grading but that coin looks like it's in good condition. The value of it is about $200. I found this on a website.
It looks to have pretty full wheat lines, so I would say fine or maybe a low VF. It also looks like it has some green on it which would make it corroded. Merc Crazy is probably correct with a good - VG price. It is probably good for $150 or a bit less.
It's an honor to know that you agree with my opinion. You might wanna pick up some Verdi-Care from Wizard Coin Supply to try and stabilize the verdigris on that coin, it looks pretty bad.
Cheek and jaw separation, VF-20 details, corroded and cleaned. There's a lot of fakes out there and honestly, the coin looks a bit suspect to me....but it's hard to tell either way from the pictures.
NO NO NO! Never clean coins....especially ones with potential value. This poor coin cannot take anymore abuse before it will become almost worthless. Take it to a dealer and have them attempt to authenticate it. If they think it's genuine, send it to ANACS for a genuine details holder.....at least that's what I'd do.
LOL, yea, it has that look of one of the known 14D fakes I've seen many times before. The portrait has that look IMO...but the pictures are so bad and there's improper cleaning damage.... I could also be wrong.
A fair guesstimate can't be figured without better images. Also, better images might help in recognizing a fake.
lol ricky. "good" is an actual grade. Please read: http://www.coinresource.com/guide/sheldon_scale.htm
Haha. I think the best way to clean it will be to soak it in paint thinner and give it a good strong scrub with steel wool.
