Found this in my grandmother's jewelry box. Help me in id'ing this and where can I find out more about this please.
It is a trade token that is often called a "Good For". Businesses would have them made to give to the public to encourage them to shop at their store. If you Googled the L.L. Flint Co. you could probably find out what kind of business it is (or was) and the years of its operation. Chris
I attempted to google l.l. Flint and could not find anything on the company. Is there a reference book that may have info on it?
It could very well be Coal Script. Tokens for use in the company store of one of the many coal mining companies in WVA. Maybe West Virginia Lumber Token or West Virginia Saloon Token.
Is it worth holding on to? Possibly valuable? I'm asking because if not, I was going to give it to my 6-year old son to put in his "treasure chest"
Tokens often deman more research then coins, I would stick around and hold onto it. Maby someone with token exsperiance will come along and know what it is.
