Just tell them their collectables, they don't need to know what kind of collectables if your worried spend the extra money and send them registered with insurance
Correct term is "Numismatic Collectables" for the customs forms that are required. And current value is required to be filled in so shipping with some kind of insurance is probably in order. Coins as money is not insurable by most postal systems. Don't lie or they will go missing intransit.
PESOBANDIDO...Even you insured that coins out from the Philippines I think there's still some risk that coin will never goest out of territory in Post Office. Why? Too many BANDIDO on that areas too..di ba?

I think there are not good etiquette if you are sending something which is not different written on the envelope.Today machines are very modern and they can judge it whether it is toy or coin.
One of my favorite dealers stamps his envelopes FSR Metalworks and if he needs to insure them, insures them as "metal fabrication pieces". Declare valuable coins on a package and in many areas, insured or not, they will never reach their destination. Btw, are coins forbidden in the Phillipines due to mass melting of issues? I have heard many countries forbid the export of their coins because melt is higher than value.
shipping coins its mostly shipping modern coins out that is illegal, customs just seized a container full of peso coins, it was headed to korea to be melted for copper.
