Can anyone tell me if there are any references out their on coins from Nassau (the various Duchy's in what is now Germany). I'd also be interested in info on Hesse-Darmstadt coinage and possible Pomeranian/Purissian coinage. Only really interested in pre 1846 stuff for the Naussau stuff for the most part. Thanks, Brian
Brian, the various Krause catalogues list the German States' coins, including those from the various Nassau states. Aidan.
Anything out there besides these Krause books or are they really the best? I looked at a few & they're nice, but if someone did a book on coins of the German States or coins of the Holy Roman Empire that was maybe one volume so it wouldn't cost quite so much that'd be great. I'd love to see some coinage from Nassau at around 1700 or so if anyone knows of any pics out there. My 6th Great Grandfather was part of the Dillenburg Castle guard in the early 1700's so it'd be interesting to me to see & perhaps aquire a coin or two from that time. My ancestors lived in Dillenburg, Nassau until leaving for Texas in 1845 hence my general interest in Nassau. Thanks
Brian, there are some German coin books that lists the coins of the various German states, but they are only in the German language, however. Aidan.
