I have a 1988 dime and 1969 penny. Are they proofs or just shiny? I'm sure it's just shiny. Thanks!:D

    Just shiny.

Remember, a 1988 proof dime would have been minted in San Francisco, so it would have an "S" mintmark, not a "P".

The same thing goes for the 1969 proofs-- all were minted at San Francisco, so they would have an S mintmark.

Proof coins are more than just "shiny". They are fully-struck with sharp details and square corners on the edge.
