Odd toning

    I know you guys are gonna ask for pics so before u start to freak out they will be up soon but i dont think they are necessary. Has anyone ever seen blast white toning on a bu wheat cent? I have a 37 s cent that is bright red and the reverse has a white almost ghostly looking stripe

  3. Could be chemicals or exposed to extreme temperatures. We'll need to see a picture to tell, of course.

    To answer your question, no, I've never seen one.

    Probably post mint damage, however, there's a small chance it could be an impurity (struck though, retained) or poorly mixed alloy. Gotta have a picture!

    My bet would be it was taped, just based on your description.
