So what is the subject? Do you collect foreign coins? Do you live in Canada? Do you like Canadian coins? Did you just want to show off a Canadian coin. I get that junk in change all to often and then can't get rid of it. Why don't they just use our money and have it over with. :hail: To a King or Queen or whatever they put on coins up there.
I purchased a couple rolls of the poppyseed colorized quarters last year. I must admit the quality of the colorization really made the coins look bad. I hope they have made imrovements in the process for these new quarters.

polar bear i got two rolls of 2006 polar bear two dollars coin. it is beautiful. but as far as collecting coins. u.s. coins is still the best. with millions of people collecting it.
I lived in Canada, part-time for over 30 years so Canadian coins are my second home's coinage so to speak. I like that Canada isn't afraid to experiment and come out with new designs every year including their circulation pieces. Some of the most beautiful coins in my collection are the Canadian Hologram sets. The largest problem with getting them is the rather high prices and the high shipping costs that the Canadian Mint charges. I wanted a 2006 unc set and a 2006 newborn baby set which sub-totalled around $33 US and after shipping they wanted over $50. That's rediculous. I guess that is how they make up for the exchange rate.

Not to mention it seems like the quality of the coins is much better than US coins. Nothing beats our older coins, imo, but i am not a fan of most of the newer designs. Not "junk" at all, I am always happy to find Canadian coins down hear. Last time I was up there, few weeks ago, I had to pay 1.18 US for one dollar Canadian, so it pays to find those coins.
Chris, they are certainly very nice coins. We'd have to promote modern Canadian circulating commemorative coins, especially the coloured 25c. coins,to the British Commonwealth section of the numismatic community, not just those up there in Canada. Aidan.
I'm not sure, but I think the Winnipeg mint is the only one capable of producing a circulating coin with colour so far. I think they initially did it just to show that it could be done, but then had to introduce the pink ribbon since the poppies all wore off so quickly.
No offense, I love Canadian coins (ooo, Victoria cents are beautiful), but I think these colourized things are just plain unattractive. Then again, I'm not a big fan of any modern coins. So I should probably shut my pie hole. :-D
I on the other hand really like the coin for more personal reasons than looks. Where would I be able to get a few of these?
Let's not get into a discussion about the presidential dollars then. CoinNewb3 - there are plenty of Canadians on this board who also collect US coins and wouldn't turn down a trade partner.
