This is a 10 yuan ($10) note from Taiwan dated 1949.

The first image says zhong hua min guo (Republic of China) at the top and taiwan yinhang (Bank of Taiwan) at the bottom.

The second image says at the very bottom "Made in the 38th year of the Republic of China" which would be 1949.

It is catalogued as P-1979 and was issued in 1969. It catalogs at VG/.20 VF/.50 UNC/3.00.

It could very well be 1969.

The Chinese "3" (三) and "5" (五) are similar and the print at the bottom of the bill is very small.

Instead of "year 38", which is 1949, it could be "year 58" which would be 1969.

I was only translating the Chinese and have no reference books on these banknotes.

Thanks you! It is great that you were able to read the majority of it. I knew that it wasn't Japanese or Korean characters, but beyond that I had no idea. Once again thank you.
