    I see listings on ebay for one oz of silver. My question is what would the face value be for one oz of 90% silver us coins? I know this is a crazy ? but im still learning so please bear with me. Thanks

    I think you are referring to the difference between a troy ounce and a avoirdupois ounce. A troy ounce IS heavier than the standard ounce used in everyday life. A troy ounce is equivalent to 1.09714 Avoirdupois ounces, and is 31.1034768 grams.

    So a troy uonce is worth more than an avoirdupois ounce.

    If you want to figure it out yourself, here's a formula to calculate value of 90% silver coins:

    Price of silver per Troy ounce × .0321507466 × weight of the coin in grams × .90
