I don't have an eBay account (because I'm 12) but does anyone else have an account on eBay? I wanted to see some coins your selling (if you have an account). Thanks!
Just check the auction section - I am sure a few of those point to ebay auctions ran by people online at cointalk.
Most YN's get assistance from parents or older relatives if they find a coin on eBay that they would like to purchase. Of course, if your only looking, you don't need to be registered. Back in the 50's when I needed to fill a hole in the Whitman I would get a little help from my grandmother... and off to the local B&M we would go. Much easier today with the internet, but you do need a CC to set up an account. And of course, be aware of overgraded and fake coins... there's a whole bunch of them out there. Good luck!
Great advice. As a 12 year old, you probably want an adult who is knowledgeable about coins and coin collecting, and also a savvy eBayer to help you before you make a purchase. You can browse all day long, and I encourage you to do so, but before you bid, make sure you have a mentor there with you. There are too many opportunities to get ripped off, without someone by your side to help and lend advice. Good luck!
You don't need an account to just view the auctions kiddo. Look to your heart's content. Also, perhaps you could as your mom or dad to set up an account for you, and help you along the way.
Just don't get caught up in the bidding wars, and end up paying way too much for a coin you want badly. It can happen to the best of us!
I agree. It's usually the best strategy to put your bid in for the maximum amount you're willing to pay, then not look at the auction again until it's over. Unless it's something that's so unique you may never see another up for sale again, there's always going to be another chance.
