a Half dollar just screws up a cashier so badly...

My wife can't tell the difference between a half dollar coin or a dollar coin...kind of like it's big, must be a dollar ? Do these idiots every think to examine it first ?

Wife is 55 years old, should know what a 50 cent coin is.

The trainer girl doesn't know what a JFK half is, asks me if it as dollar, sadly I tell her it is a 50 cent piece...but I'd quarter her any day, jajaja.

Now this is just a JFK half, an Ike dollar is like awesome.

I'm going to start tipping with Ike dollars now, akin to when I tipped with Morgans.

I like to use IKE Dollars for a tip. Not SBA dollars. The wait staff thinks they are quarters. And the Presidential and Saki Dollars I try not to use. Also I would rather use paper money, Try lugging around 40 IKE dollars or would you like 4, 10's. No weight but you have money.

If you think that's bad, it was about 2005 that a survey was taken of several thousand incoming college freshman. They were shown a map of the United States that had no markings except for the outlines of the states. Each freshman was asked to identify their home state, and 70% of them couldn't.

I can believe it. In my tenth grade history class the teacher did the same thing. Handed out a blank map and had us fill in the names of the states. I was the only one who got them all right and it was amazing the number of students who couldn't correctly identify the state they were living in. Of course 25% of the graduates in my class could not read or write and many of the others were functionally illiterate. (And this was not a case of a class with a high percentage of immigrants.)

 

She can't read too good....

Hahahaha but it's so much fun. Especially if the cashier is really young, like 16 or 17. Give them a couple Kennedies, and Ike, and maybe a Sacagawea dollar too (I know some people collect these, but they just don't appeal to me). Then try not to laugh out loud as the poor kid tries to figure out what to do with them.

 

I've never had anybody not know what to do with halves or dollar coins. Usually, they are curious because they don't see many of them and they'll ask to make sure it's a dollar. Then they chunk it into the register and that's that.

Well, those are good. It's true, people have a hard time finding places they're not familiar with, but the state they live in... come on. Maybe they just surveyed people in those rectangle states ("Is that Colorado? Or maybe Wyoming...").
And I don't particularly find Leno funny, but I do quite like Jay Walking. Very funny. However, I can only imagine what they edit out. It's an 8 minute segment, but I can imagine them filming hours worth to through it together. This is, of course, just speculation.

 

Tipping you with a Morgan would be no different than a normal tip Dinner for two is about $45 and needs an $8 tip. Morgans were $8 at the time at The guilford coin exchange , guilford ct 06437. I can no longer tip with Morgans since they cannot be obtained for $8 anymore.

I tip right around 18 % at least 15% if I plan to return.

I don't believe it either. Our educational system isn't perfect, but there is no way that statistic is factual.

 

I don't buy it either. Missing California is impossible and that is 10% or so of the population. Florida is impossible to miss and another huge chunk of population, Texas also. Maybe you miss on a place like New Hampshire, but not if you live there.

 

I have no doubt its true. This country is full of lost people, just look around...
