Is there a coin or coin type that you always buy if it's at a certain price? I tend to always buy Walkers any condition if I see them under 16.00 or 17.00 dollars.
Do you always buy silver if you see it under or at melt? What coin and at what price do you tend to buy a certain coin?

I will always by under if I have the funds, at only if I want it. I have no trouble finding walkers at melt even up to XF grades.

Walkers melt at $15.50 so buying them at $17 is a little high. But I ALWAYS buy proof silver coins at melt at flea markets, you can buy a silver proof dime at 3 dollars, proof silver quarter at $7.50 and proof halves at $15!

Sometimes if it's under melt and I've got the money, I buy it, why not? It's not as though it's a bad investment or anything. But I'm not going to lie, I strongly prefer to enhance my silver collection by roll searching; it's just more fun for me. The hunt is better than the slaughter. When you buy coins, you know what you're getting (or hopefully anyway). But when you roll search, your heart starts pounding whenever you see a little glimpse of that dull full silver shine. Love it ^_^

When you pull better-date barber dimes out of a big bucket of dimes for melt, that's just as fun as roll-searching.

I keep a list of keys and semi-keys for every denomination dating back to about 1890 on my phone. :)

It's important to keep up melt values.
Just checked and WL's melt value AT THE MOMENT is $14.20.
But like the weather, change is imminent.

I had lots of weird little thing I could never pass up, both in the past and now.

In the past I could never pass up a XF-AU bust half, SL half, or CB half dime. I also bought every 1927s quarter in g-F I could find, (don't ask).

Currently, I cannot pass up any Domitian quadrans with a rhino, Constantine "hand of God", or well struck Byzantine Class I follis I think is fairly priced. Also Sassanid Ardashir III. Each of these coins I have many multiples of, I just like them.

Collectors by definition are a little off, and we get into little ruts where we just need to collect certain things. I am not sure how I would characterize a collector who didn't have a special coin s/he just couldn't buy enough of. Maybe call them a dealer? :)

I know how to characterize them.
They are called "collectors on a limited budget".
Everything I have is a "one of" for me.
