Stoped by the bank and grabbed a roll of Texas quarters to fill some of my kids state quarter books and Mine. While tearing back the paper, about 1/3 way down I noticed a coin did not have the grooves on the side. I pulled it out and it was blank. Know it is probably worth a whole $0.00 since it never got stamped with the dies on either side. But interesting egnough I though I would add to my collection since I have never seen 1 before in person.

Actually blank planchets are worth a couple of bucks. A very nice find indeed.

Well cool worth more than $.25. Well put it in cardboard an tossed it in the safe. How often do these get mixed in and released for circulation?

More often than you might think. Cent planchets are most common but I've had quarter planchets regularly...sold two on ebay last week, I think.
Still, a very neat find. Congrats!
