What an idiot!! He's off his rocker and most likely gets beaten down by customers all the time. If they can find him!! :D

"Durr, yep, I'll be happy to send you a PayPal gift. You sound honest, so I don't need any eBay Buyer Protection, any PayPal Purchase Protection, or even a way to leave you negative feedback if things go south. You're on eBay -- you must be a good guy!"

I "fee his pain", too, but if he doesn't like eBay's policies toward selling (as I don't), then he can quit selling there (as I did).

Heh. It looks like he's starting to get the message. He ended his two smaller auctions, and now the UHR auction is described as a "lot" that includes the other two coins, with not a word about evading fees.

But now, he's also added the phrase "As-Is Condition!" to each item's description. Yeah, that fills me with confidence.

I just reported all his listings using the "$0.99" scam; FeeBay sucks enough without all the scammers...

It seems the sellers tune got changed for him. I am surprised they did not NARU him.

I've never been on the seller's side of a situation like this, but I imagine eBay starts with a "cut it out or else" message. On the other hand, it doesn't look like they've disappeared any of his auctions that are in violation, so maybe they just haven't gotten around to him yet.

Sure they can. They do it all the time.

This was left on my feedback from a seller I purchased an item from, never sent me the tracking info, it never arrived, I filed with PayPal and received a full refund:

This Newbie is one to avoid. Received the item but claimed did not. Superliar!
I actually was able to have the neg removed from my feedback score by supplying eBay with all of my emails to this seller and the decision by PayPal to refund the purchase price plus shipping because the seller could not provide proof of shipping.

There's a difference between "negative feedback" and unfavorable comments, and there's a difference between feedback and follow-ups.

Negative feedback decreases your feedback score, neutral feedback leaves it unchanged, and positive feedback increases it. Follow-ups have no effect.

There is no way for a seller to leave a buyer non-positive feedback. A seller can leave a buyer feedback saying "this buyer never paid, lied to eBay, and got my dog pregnant", and it'll still increase the buyer's feedback rating.

Both buyers and sellers can leave whatever follow-ups they like, but again, it has no effect on either's feedback rating.

Well, it looks like his remaining 99-cent auctions have all been disappeared (not showing up in current or completed auctions). We'll see whether his remaining auctions and his account follow suit.

You could, but the buyer could possibly get it removed since it violates ebay rules. When they made the rule that sellers could not leave negative feedback they also stated that they can't leave a negative "positive" feedback.

Something I don't get is his last auctions offered it at $450 BIN with free shipping, but he would sell if outside of eBay for $369 shipping and handling included and he said he could do that "great deal" because he wouldn't have to pay ebay's FMV fees. Now correct me if I'm wrong but I thought ebay capped their FMV fees at $50. So if he sells it for BIN and pays ebay their fees he would still net more money than he would by selling it off-ebay.

I get a warm fuzzy feeling when members of this forum ban togethor to call out and report an ebay scammer. Although it is a very small piece of the big picture, it still gives me satisfaction. If you can stop just one person from getting scammed, that's good for the everybody. :)

    Good job guys!

Actually they are capped at $100
Despite his math problem, maybe that had something to do with that listing no longer being active.

Capped at $100, thanks. What is the cap for BIN if any? I still suspect he would make more paying the fees.

As best I can figure, there is no max for fixed price auctions, but they don't give a simple answer like that.

As a seller, I have to say I have been less than pleased with the new things ebay has done. Why can't I give negative feedback to a bad buyer? Ebay wants everyone to do free shipping, which is great, if ebay was paying for my shipping costs, which they are not. As a buyer I've noticed higher prices.

I understand why this guy is grasping at straws to try and figure out how to get away from the fees. However, he is doing it the wrong way.
