Welcome to CoinTalk. The overwhelming majority of the series 2006 $100 notes were printed in DC......as you can see here; http://www.uspapermoney.info/serials/f2006_h.html. I am wondering if you might be thinking about the latest $100 notes being printed (2006A) which are all being printed in DC, as seen here ;http://www.uspapermoney.info/serials/f2006ah.html to help fulfill the need for $100 notes while they sort out their problems with the redesigned (2009) $100 notes. My only 2006 $100, which was printed in DC. Hopes this helps.
Thanks SteveInTampa, but yes I am refering to $100 series 2006, FR#2181. Per uspapermoney.info there were a few printed in Forth Worth back in '07 and '08. I have never seen one yet and wondering if these were ever released into circulation. I am a series and print type collector and this one is missing from my collection. Anyone else have a photo of one? BTW does anyone know what FR# the $100 2006-A series has been given? FR#2184?
The only difference is where they are printed. The one I displayed was printed in Washington DC, and the other was printed at the Western Facility in Fort Worth Texas. Most $100 notes are printed in DC. Both facilities printed low print run Star notes, so I don't believe the FW printed notes will have any added premium.
I have not seen any (not that I have seen many $100 bills in person lately), but I have heard others looking for the FW Series 2006 $100's are coming up short on finding any.
bump Anyone have any luck finding FW 2006 $100 bills? Maybe there stuck at the bottom of the pile of unwanted 2009 $100s. If anyone has any info please post.
Nothing yet, unfortunately. I keep an informal "look for this" list on my desk notepad, and check various numismatic websites and auction houses during the week for this series and denomination, but haven't found any yet.
Wow, if it's that bad I can see this thing already hitting $200+ out of the gate. However, I would be a little weary of a horde release at anytime.
bump.... Still no luck. I wonder if they were even distributed or still in FW vaults. Can anyone find out?
