Braided Hair Large Cents

    How hard is it to collect all the Braided Hair Large Cents? and what is the average value for all the years,

    I think if you collect only by date then you can get most in F to VF (from 1839 to 1856) from $20 to $80 depending on variety. The key date is 1857 - two varieties large date and small date.     If large cents are something you are thinking about getting serious about collecting I highly recommend joining Early American Copper club, I think they have a youth rate. If you like late dates in particular, the braided hair, it's worth the $100 to buy the Grellman late date attribution book as well.

    They are a really fun serious to collect with lots of possible collections to do. You can collect by year, variety, die state, the list is endless. And on a positive note, they are still cheap enough to buy decent coins for a reasonable amount.
