Self Slabbing Coins in My Collection

So, I'm trying to come up with a way to store part of my foreign coin collection...the majority is raw but a few pieces are slabbed. I recently thought that I could put the raw coins in those self slabs and place them in slab pages. This would allow me to label each coin as I wanted and be able to organize them in a book (which I want to do). Also, I could mix in the actually slabbed coins.

Has anyone used any of these self slabs? Is there are particular type you recommend? What about coin sizes...do they have the same versatility as airtities for sizes? Also, will they fit inside slab pages designed to hold PCGS and NGC slabs? Finally, do the labels come packaged so they can be printed off a computer (or do you make your own from scratch)?

Most of my "not worth the cost to having graded" U.S. coins are in self slabs, mainly the Coin World slabs. They work very well and give me the slab look without the high cost.

I also have several World Coins in a few but the problem I have is many world coins I have dont fit, they are either too tight or too loose because Coin World slabs only come in the U.S. coin sizes.

Im sure there might be a way to cut the rubber to size the coin world slabs come with but thats too much hassle. I just use airtites for the ones that dont fit well.

And as far as storage, I have read that the coin world slabs fits perfectly well in a NGC or PCGS box so I assume they would fit slab pages fine.

They look/feel more like a PCGS Slab.

As far as labels, you can buy the software/labels for them if you like. I just use memory...lame I know, lol.

Thanks for the info Mat. The trouble is...I need to find slabs that have a wide variety of inserts, like airtites have.

Coin world slabs have them all like half dime, half cent, various gold. But not oddball sizes u can customize. You would get rattling.

Unfortunately, these coins are not US coins and thus their sizes are different. I don't think that will work.

Thats what I mean, I have it where even though it might be...for say a U.S. 20c piece coin world slab, i toss in a world coin thats similar in size but a bit smaller, so its loose & rattles when its closed but its not going anywhere, thats the point I was trying to make.

I am 98% sure there isnt a self slab you can buy for all the various sizes and sometimes shapes for all the world coins around :/

Annoying air-tites are your only option.

I use the BCW slabs (look like old ANACS slabs) for material I self slab. I have a special excel spreadsheet for printing out the labels with my business name, a coin pic, grade, date info, stock #etc. These also mix in well with TPG slabs at a show improving the quality of the display.

Their product is superior to the CW product and cheaper.

    I think I wanna become a self-slabber. I'm fairly decent at grading coins. :p

Are they available in a variety of sizes? I want them for foreign coins.
