It seemed like I was seeing quite a few 1921 Peace dollars coming up this evening on Buy It Now. When I looked at one, then viewed the seller's other auctions, I saw SIX 1928-P's, over a DOZEN 1921's -- and they're still listing more! The claim is that they're from a "recent estate purchase". It doesn't look suspicious at all -- all the pictures are different, the grade estimates (all raw coins) look reasonable, and the prices are proportionate -- but what an odd lot that must have been! (No other coins for sale at the moment; just 1921 and 1928-P Peace.)

I wouldn't call it odd, they just collected the key date of the Peace series

You are jumping to conclusions, it appears to me, that if you look at the sellers other auctions, they do not seem to be a coin dealer at all, but have many antiques of every kind which would corroborate exactly with their story of the coins being from estate sales. As to the photo's, I am a numismatist and collect lots of coins, buying and selling and it has taken me a long while to figure out a decent method of photographing coins for auctions. If I wasn't going to be a coin dealer I probably wouldn't have figured out how to take any better of coin photo's than this seller. I think they check out fine.

I saw many of the pics that were the same pics.
I saw 21 listings that had 23 or 28 pics.
Here is one of the pics representing 21s:

That coin is 38.1 mm. On my screen (larger than average) the picture is only about 30mm. And you really want to tell if that is real or counterfeit?

I sent the seller a message on one of the Peace's to see if they would send me better closeup pics of the coin. We'll see what happens.

There are a lot of 1921 and 1928 peace dollars at Chinese estate sales where no one died. I personally would not buy a 1928 peace dollar without authentication, and a reputable dealer standing behind it. Just my advice...
