The first one I have posted before, but I'm still stumped. The last three are new. The second, a cob? The fourth, Byzantine?
The coin on the right is a byzantine class A2 anonymous. Unfortunately the obverse is too worn to further identify. These coins listed by Sear according to the design within the halo around Christ's head. Richard
The first "coin" has a date of 1870 but is very well struck. It is 14 1/2 mm. I have a bunch of Apothecary weights and this just doesn't feel like one (I think all mine are brass, this item looks like bronze). Anyone know of any significance of 1870 and 1/8 A? Combine that with a Trojan(?). The second item is 16 mm and obviously silver. Seems like a cob, but this is not my area of specialization. Anyone? The third one is 19 1/2 mm. It seems to be a Severus Alexander. Any more info on it? I do not have anything from this emperor yet, so it is a good find no matter what. Any way to tell which mint it is from? Denomination? Any way to attribute the year better than 22-235 (reign years)? The last one is definitely Byzantine. Is that Jesus? Year minted? Thanks for the input so far, maybe I'll get lucky here, it's been known to happen here.
The Byzantine coin does indeed depict Jesus, and the A2 anonymous follis is thought to have been minted by Basil II sometime during the period of 976-1028.
