Inverted backs are generally the hardest errors to find. Due to the scarcity of this particular note, I can only give you a starting figure. Generally these are seen (when they're EVEN seen) in large or small size notes, and rarely fractional notes. Your note, if graded in CU condition, would normally go for $700-900 if it did not have the inverted back. With the error, I believe that the starting price is around $2,000. Take into consideration that this could increase or decrease based upon demand and scarcity of the note. I believe that this particular note would be worth 1.5X-2X the $2,000. Excellent find! I highly recommend having the note graded/authenticated as soon as possible.
Thanks! I will submit it ASAP but the only thing im worried about is a mailman seeing it and stealing it. How could I protect it from getting stolen?
Insure it when you ship it. Make sure that you put it in a hard protective case so it doesn't get bent during shipment. Get a tracking number.
FCOL, if you think it is one of a few of a kind send it in and be done with it. For a fractional note like that I'd make a better effort, than you have, to get the note photographed or copied. Lest I say more I'll probably get another sanction. ZEKE I did watch the Youtube video and it looks like you know a lot about fractionals. IMHO get it TPG'd.
And your reason for copying Frank's post #4 is???????????? At least make an original post if you want to 'advertise' your website.
I'm a little late to the discussion here as I've been out of town. I would definately go with PMG. Here's a quote from Paper Money of the United States by Arthur L. and Ira S. Freidburg "INVERTED REVERSES, Some notes of the first three issues known with inverted reverses, or inverted surcharges. Notes of the Second and Third Issues are known with surcharges partially or entirely missing. All such notes are very rare." No prices are listed for these notes in any condition and true price can only be determined by putting the note up for auction with a major auction house. Richard
Thanks! I am not new to paper money or coins but I am new to submitting notes to be graded. Can you tell me the cost for the note, shipping insurance, turnaround, etc cuz when I look at the chart wih the info I get very confused lol
The best thing to do would be to call PMG and talk to someone there. I did that with a question I had and all of my answers were found in about 5 minutes. 1.877.PMG.5570 toll free
Id like to thank everyone for the help but the only thing I wanted to know is (if you saw the video I posted showing all the fractional) why would my local dealer tell me that all of it (Including the error that weve concluded is worth around $2,000) offer mee $275 for EVERYTHING? I dont want to say hes trying to scam me becuase hes been my dealer (Lol not a drug refferance) since I started and always seems fair but I have been noticing some over prices and low buy prices. Is it possible he just didnt know much about it and just treated it like the rest? SHould I stop dealing with this guy?
