Penny struck on damaged blank (pre or post mind damage?)

First of all I apologize if my terminology is incorrect, I only just got into coin collecting. Please correct me if I am not using the correct vocabulary.

I found a penny the other day that appeared to be damage. A triangular section of the penny looked to be broken off on the same spot on both sides. Seemed like post mint damage to me until I started to look at edge. Rather than a piece being broken off, an extra bit was there. I think that this at least (and maybe the damage on the obverse/reverse as well) was there on the original blanks.

It took some doing but I took pictures. I am about to head off to work so I don't have time to look for the usb cord for my camera to upload the pictures (I will do so when I get home), but I really wanted to ask this question. Is this kind of damage/error worth anything? And even if it's not, is it work keeping since I think it's cool?

Pictures will be need to be certain, but if it has a triangle piece missing more than likely pmd, though it could be struck on a piece of scrap. So pic needed

I finally got the pictures uploaded. The area of interest is best shown on the picture of the rim. The quality of my camera is low, so I hope that enough detail turned out...

Good to have you here on CT Capernicus. Though the pictures are a bit fuzzy it appears to be PMD. It looks like the coin was struck with a chisel or some other sharp tool.

I agree with Bruce... sure looks to be post mint damage.

PMD, you can see a little bit coming out of it, so some metal was squeezed out, seems to me like someone tried to use heavy duty cutters on it.

Oh well, I will keep it around simply because I like it. Thanks for your opinions!
