I thought it would be fun to pick up some stocks from french printing companies (heh, why not :) ). They should be a nice tie-in with the banknotes. This one came in today, I've got another on its way.

Anyone else have printing stock certificates to share?

Stocks from the American Bank Note Company make their way onto Ebay occasionally. So do stocks from the Union Publisher's and Printer's that printed some small change notes for the Central Bank of China.

Very nice. Where did you get it?

Got this one off eBay, it isn't particularly rare. But there are several sites and dealers of such stuff where you end up seeing some pricey material...

One of my collections is ABNCo foreign currency and stock certificates but I'm always looking for interesting paper.

Here's another certificate for the printing company B. Sirven, in Toulouse, France. It's a bit more rare than the previous one. And it's really big! I think these will get framed for my den.

This is just the top half of the certificate.

This thread snuck past me when I wasn't looking! Yes, I have a few to add. I've always like the one from Alden Type Setting. I also have a couple others from bank note printers, but I'll have to scan those tomorrow.

As promised, here are a few more. Most of these are fairly common -- you can find the American Bank Note stock for $5 or less. The specimen from Security-Columbian is the only one of value. I was surprised to see that one bring about $150 in an auction a couple years ago. I think my favorite vignette is on the stock from United Printers. That one was engraved by E.A. Wright Bank Note in Philadelphia; one of the more obscure security printers.

Thanks for posting these. That Alden type-setting machine looks like quite the deal - would love to see how that worked.
