    Hi all,

I went down to the cafeteria at lunchtime today to buy a soda, and when the cashier was handing me my change, I noticed the distinctive sound of silver. It was a silver quarter. I asked the cashier if he had any more like it, and it turns out that he had 9 more. I bought them all from him immediately.

Man, I've found like three silver quarters in change in like the last 10 years, but I've never landed a haul like this before! With silver now over $40 an ounce, that's around $100 in silver.

I went out an bought McDonald's gift cards to give to the cashier. I told him that it was 'thank you' for selling those to me, and that if he found more, I'd make it worth his while.

The years of the quarters are:

    1 @ 1941
    1 @ 1942
    1 @ 1950
    1 @ 1952 s
    1 @ 1960
    4 @ 1964
    1 @ 1964 d

I went down there for a refill, and he had another one. That's 11 silver quarters in one day! I'm guessing that he probably had a whole roll of them....man, wouldn't that have been a score!

I love the fact that you shared your good fortune with the cashier. Nice find!

I'm seeing a lot more silver in circulation now than I have in the past. I'm thinking 'a sign of the times' as us "old folk" start spending all that change we've saved over the years.

That's great and good form giving the gift card. Well done.
