Hi all, I went down to the cafeteria at lunchtime today to buy a soda, and when the cashier was handing me my change, I noticed the distinctive sound of silver. It was a silver quarter. I asked the cashier if he had any more like it, and it turns out that he had 9 more. I bought them all from him immediately. Man, I've found like three silver quarters in change in like the last 10 years, but I've never landed a haul like this before! With silver now over $40 an ounce, that's around $100 in silver. I went out an bought McDonald's gift cards to give to the cashier. I told him that it was 'thank you' for selling those to me, and that if he found more, I'd make it worth his while. The years of the quarters are: 1 @ 1941 1 @ 1942 1 @ 1950 1 @ 1952 s 1 @ 1960 4 @ 1964 1 @ 1964 d -StephenS
I went down there for a refill, and he had another one. That's 11 silver quarters in one day! I'm guessing that he probably had a whole roll of them....man, wouldn't that have been a score!
I'm seeing a lot more silver in circulation now than I have in the past. I'm thinking 'a sign of the times' as us "old folk" start spending all that change we've saved over the years.
