I just posted some images of a little known series of obsolete banknote prints issued by American Bank Note back in the '70s. Check my album at

I'd love to hear from anyone with more info about the Historical American Currency collection. Especially how many were produced/sold.

Recently found more information on this series on eBay. Some scans from the promotion booklet. Not all the pages are shown but there is some good background. Apparently American Express did the marketing for this. I'm not sure if these were only available to Amex cardholders but they certainly make it sounds exclusive. Still no info on original price or actual number sold (I think it was under 3,000).

Nice. Is it a fresh printing of the original note?

Yes -- there are six notes. The paper ones are printed on card stock. Nice clear intaglio impressions from the original plates by American Bank Note. You can see them all if you follow the link on the first posting. I created that album before I figured out how to post things directly into a thread.

I followed the link but I'm missing something because I didn't see the notes.
    I'll check again.

You have to get into the album first which is posted on the bottom right.
