You are going to get many different answers. My answer is yes, Dansco's are a great album and a great way to organize. Anything extra valuable however, should go into a slab. :)

I agree with gbroke, Danscos are the best on the market for storing and organizing coin series.

They are expensive, but you get what you pay for. I also have cheaper "Dansco" style albums, but holy smokes do they feel cheap. The slides are so thin and nearly imposiible to push in and out! Not to mention the pages are made of tissue paper (or so it feels)!

One thing I did for some of my Danscos, was look on ebay for albums with some coins in them. I actually got many many coins in my danscos buying them this way. You can get them for cheaper then new, with coins!

If you can get your hands on a Dansco 7070 U.S. Type coins album, that is a fun set to put together. And its highly addicting to try and fill all the slots, very challenging too!

I couldn't agree more. This is my favorite album. I am a few short of completing it, it was an addiction once I bought the 7070.

I like Dansco and I do have some collections in them. I have a US and Mexico type sets, for example.

They're not vinyl, though. They have sleeves and the clear material is mylar, I believe. Don't get anything with vinyl because most of those have PVC.

But modern Dansco albums are safe.

At local coin shops and shows, you could find used Dansco albums from people who sold the collection. As long as they're not too old (1980's or later) you can often pick these up for a fraction of the selling price when new. I was able to get a Liberty nickel album for $5 when the new price is over $20.

I agree with the others...they are spendy but worth it. Why pay all that money for the coins and not store them in something high quality. You should look into a Dansco 7070.
