i didnt really know where else to post this. i have been on this forum for quite some time now. it has been a wealth of knowledge. there are so many great people to chat with. unfortunately i am at a point in my life of great change. its not the best of times for sure. i have decided as part of the process of my new situation that i will be leaving the forum. i am also going to be selling off the bulk of my collection. its not something i want to do but i feel it is time. it took many years and $$$ to amass my collection. so its not going to be an easy task. i will start this week posting stuff up on ebay. so everyone keep you eyes open for some unbelievable auctions or paper money and coins as well as silver. thank you all for being such good people. hopefully one day i can come back and contribute but it is now time for me to move on :so-sad: i will have posts in the buy sell section for my auctions in the near future. i will check this post from time to time. thank you all
Though I have never spoken with you, I hate to hear a fellow collector has reached a point in his life that he feels he has to sell his collection. Whatever the reason is, I am sorry you are at this point. I hope for the best for you and will keep you in my thoughts. Good luck with your auctions, I hope you get fair prices for everything.
oh my goodness chemist. me and you never really got to know each other on here (im ryan). thats so sad. im sorry that you have to give up such a big part of your life. i cant imagine how you feel. if there is anything we can do to help please let us know. in the meantime i will check some of your auctions on a daily basis. i would love to help out a fellow coin talker if possible. i just came into a large sum of money actually so maybe i can help. again i am sorry and hope that one day you can get back into collecting. -Ryan
It troubles me when I read posts like this. I hate goodby's and farewells but the fact is that sometimes you must accept them. I shall miss you UrbanChemist. I wish you safe passage to where it is you travel.
Even though you feel it is time to sell your collection that doesn't mean that you have to give up on coins. You can still study coins even though you no longer own any or collect them. I sold off my entire collection in 2006 and have not owned a coin since then. But my study of coins has only become more intense since then and it will continue until I am no longer around to do so. To each his own of course, and if you feel that your participation on the forum would be time better spent elsewhere - then I wish you the best and all happiness in your pursuits. I just thought it might be worth letting you know that you don't have to collect or own coins to continue being a numismatist
I am sorry buddy, and I am sorry we didnt talk to each other, and get to know each other! Like he said you canm still be part lf the forum! Thanks for the good times and hope to see ya on here again someday. I wish you good luck in whatever you do.
Best wishes for the future! For me the knowledge and research is the rush!! Glad for your participation! Jim
It's sad to see people with so much more knowledge than my own, those who can aid people like myself (new to collecting coins) have to walk away and say "Goodbye". Still, without people like you contributing for years on end, than people like me would be pretty lost in such a specialized field "Goodluck" and "Thank you"...

Good luck urbanchemist! I am sorry that in the short time I have been on this forum, I was not able to speak or converse with you. Having been through big changes in my life w/in the last year, I can certainly appreciate the need to move on. Happy trails, and godspeed to you. Gene
