I purchased these Roosevelt Dimes on eBay and they just arrived in the mail today. I keep scratching my head on why I got these dimes so inexpensively! I paid a total of $15.05, which included shipping. At the time I purchased them the spot price of silver was $40.08. I know nothing about TruGrade which is the grading service used for these coins, but 6 of the silver dimes are all Proofs with a rating of 65 - 66, with the 1953-S being a MS-65. The remaining 3 dimes are all graded MS-65. The 1960 and 1963 are a Deep Cameo Reverse and the 1962 is a Cameo reverse. These are my first "slab" coins. Is it worth sending them in to PCGS to see what I really have here?
Can you post pictures of them Susan? I've never heard of TruGrade, but maybe someone else has. From your description they sound good. Bruce
your fee for sending 1 coin to pcgs would be more than what you paid for all of the coins. TruGrade is considered junk slab, no dealer will recognize it, the grade on slab might be close to actual grade though.
This is my first attempt at taking photos of a coin ... hopefully this works. If the grades are even close, this was a real steal at $15.05. The silver value alone at the time of purchase was $20.30. Just wondering if I hit a real home-run.
The coins would not be worth significantly more after having been sent to PCGS for over 30 bucks a coin
you did ok, no home run though, the prices listed at pcgs and ngc are really fantasy prices, i don't think anyone pay for them at those prices, i think you have average proof grade for those years.

Thanks edssco! I did indeed purchase the coins for their bullion value. Was just surprised when I looked at PCGS and NGC pricing. Based on all the feedback, I'm definitely not going to bother to send them in. I'll just enjoy my purchase ... which I'm thrilled with!
Correct ... 3 of the 10 coins are not silver. Just taking in to consideration the silver coins, at $15.05 for the total order I paid $2.51 per silver dime. At the time of purchase, the silver value of each of these dimes was $2.90, so I got them for 13.43% under spot. Based on the condition of these coins, there appears to be some numismatic value. Again, I primarily collect coins for their bullion value so it's rare for me to pick up a slabbed coin (my only other slab is a PCSG graded Saint Guardens ... that I simply really wanted). That's why I was inquiring as to whether it made sense to send the silver coins to PCSG for grading. The consensus seems to be "no", which works for me
Trugrade is tantamount to SGS, everything is overgraded, and in most cases, will not cross over to either PCGS or NGC. However, if you are happy with your purchase, that's what counts.
