trivia: An Error Coin You May Not Know Exists

    Way back in 1863 a Bolivian Silver 8 Soles coin was struck and somehow released into circulation bearing an error on its reverse. So you can distinguish the error on the coin here's an 8 Soles that was struck without an error. (Coin Archives image):

    What is the error? On that 1862 8 Soles, you just looked at, the spelling "BOLIVIANA" is correct. On the error coin struck in 1863, note the spelling is "BOLIVANA." Click link to see (Coin Archives photo):

    Seems like a good way for a country to issue coinage w/o having to accept it as payment. :thumb:
