I had taken some time off and not really searched outside the banks right by my house for the past month. I decided to go out today as I was bored lol. Not kidding, this is getting sick, FIRST bank I drive to: 18 CWR yielded...


142 40%'ers, 1 1964, 1 1970D silver. All but about 20 are AU/BU. The 1970D is BU with a near flawless field!! Clearly this was someone's stash that had been sitting in a box for 40 years in the back of some closet.

Erin is the king of Silver. I'm in a real funk right now. Searched my box of halves - Skunk! Got 2 boxes of dimes. First box - Skunk...mostly 2011's.

Still have another one to search later tonight.

CAN I GET SOME SILVER PLEASE! ENUFF ALREADY!!!

 

Today I found 1 1964 in the only roll of halves I picked up.
Box of dimes 1 silver
$150 in dimes 2 more
Box of halves skunk - 4 boxes this week of halves found no silver

 

Nice find Erin. I gave up on the road trip because of the heat and humidity, but still spent some time hitting up banks. Last bank I go to on my way to pick up a box of halves, and well...

1 box of dimes; 2 mercs, a '37 and a '41.
Cashing in; '64-D quarter and '64.

Just did $70 in halves. I pulled 18 '64's (2 BU), 5 65-69's, 4 Franklin's (1 BU), 4 Walking Liberty's. So in short I just made over $400 just in melt value. I'm going to start doing more halves now.

 

Not exactly roll searching, but still in shock from this one....

this morning I realize that I am almost out of gas so I hop over to a station near my store. I always have to go in and buy a drink when I get gas, don't know why, just always have. Anyway, as I am standing in line I hear someone clanking coins behind me and immediately recognized the sound. Upon turning around, I noticed a mid-40s man with 6 ASEs in his hand, playing with them. I asked what he was buying and he replied "I need smokes." I offered him $20 for the coins in his hand and he immediately handed them over. I'm still not sure I believe it. How in the world does someone take 6 1 ounce coins in to purchase "smokes"??? Needless to say, I've been smiling all day long.

 

And anyway since when do stores accept ASE's

 

Since they have to because ASE's are monetized as $1....

Yes, I've seen this before thank you....and keep in mind, she did'nt refuse, he offered to pay in ones.

 

At one bank stop today. There is an old lady and her daughter in front of me in line. The mom has mental issues and is withdrawing money form here account. The daughter is not happy with her. Anyway, The mom has 7 or 8 silver dollar coins that she wanted to cash in. The daughter told here not to. I walk out at the same time and told here that I noticed the coins. I told here that a coin shop was a good bet if the mom wanted to get rid of them. I didn't get them and who knows what will happen with them. I wanted them, oh well. The daughter had enough to deal with but was happy for the information. 4 rolls of quarters, 2 rolls of dimes, and one roll of halves... nothing. Did pick up 21 ikes though.

 

BYW, for all of you in the heat dome, it has only been over 80 degrees for 18 hours in Seattle this year.
