Your star is from a run of 1,920,000, which is a pretty large run for such a high denomination. If you want to keep it, then by all means do so (I keep all stars I find), but in the grade of this note, you wouldn't get really anything over face value. I'd say $110 max.
Nice $5 star nomad!! I don't particularly collect special serials, but that is nice with the star on it!
Got this one in change the other day. ser# is k10000004f. I also got a $2 that had been postmarked and stamped in a strap the same day.
Just received a 1981 $100 that is in pretty great shape. Decent centering, no major creases. I'll try to throw up a picture later. Would it be old enough to bring anything over face value? It's not a fancy # or star.
A 30 year old $100 dollar bill that survived would absolutely bring it above face value, unless it looks like my $2 battleship note LOL Maybe $5 to $10 bucks over face, but pictures will tell the value... FRB, and run can also blast the value into orbit. Sorry I'm not near my books to see. I kind of remember F/6 or Atlanta was special? But don't hold me to that, no books near by...
Out of seven twos I got from a bank today, two of them were from the first day of issue, 4/13/76, complete with 13-cent stamp and the postmark from Suffield, CT. It has been about a year since I found my previous first day of issue $2 bill.
Found this crisp uncirculated 2009 Boston district star note in a $100 BEP strap of NY district notes.
How common is it to find a strap of $2s? Can they order them for you, like with boxes of coin? I coin roll hunt, but it'd be kind of cool to find some old paper money sometimes.
I had one of my dump banks (TD Bank) order me $200 in $2 bills so when I dumped my halves I would get the $2's. Can't hurt to ask your bank.
I haven't done it in awhile. The first few times the $2 notes were "mixed" from different years, etc. Then I started getting uncirculated consecutives so I gave it a rest. Might be time to try again.
Was searching the $1 bill packs over the past few days and found some great stuff, found a $1 Uncut now cut 1995 note very good condition it had the serial # B99517755A I think and the day before I found that one I found another $1 bill Series 2006 K 95999953B could not believe I found a serial # that high.
