I'm almost 100% certain this is a fake. What do you people think.http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=300569183437&ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT
Laughably fake in my opinion. The coin was relisted: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=290588872625
You have a good eye. I do believe you are correct. I already have had 4 of his coins pulled (the same 2 coins twice). That 3 just does not look right nor does the left wheat. If you are looking at the area around LIBERTY, I believe that is corrosion. BTW, I believe that his 1909-S is also counterfeit.
Lincoln doesn't look right either. This is likely a Chinese counterfeit if I had to guess based on the quality
I reported the 31s twice, before it was relisted, but ebay won't pull it. I agree with you, RLM, about the 09s. It looks pretty shakey. Maybe if more people report them ebay will do something about them.
That's scary. I'm so naive. Not only does it look fake, but whoever it is seems to know it and is relisting it.
It's fake, look how weak the LIBERTY is. Plus the date and mint mark looks weird all in itself. I wouldn't touch this coin with a ten foot pole. Plus, this guy is a self slabber.
Yep... known self slabber of Chinese counterfeits. Here's the thread on the fake 3-leeged buf: http://www.cointalk.com/t185515/ eBay is pulling his auctions; if he lists too many of these, he'll be "poofed" also.
Yeah, this is the same guy that floated several fake nickels just a week or two ago. DON'T REPORT IT ON THE AUCTION ITSELF. Use this link, it is more direct: http://contact.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAP...3a46b6&rcode=c7d8e9c4b298eff616b2159d03a4ea35
Has anyone looked hard at the 'relisted' 31s? It appears to be a totally different coin. Does it appear fake? It is certainly a better fake, or he is using close-ups of a real 31s. The first one, fake, and pulled. The one that is linked to as a relist.
That's right. Your other link went away. http://cgi.ebay.com/290587200351?ru...=m570.l2736&_nkw=290587200351++&_fvi=1&_rdc=1 Just in case, the seller is denvercertifiedcoins. FWIW, I just notice that the seller ended the 1909-S
The one that was pulled and relisted was also fake and killed by ebay. The seller does have another '31-S (your second photo) and it appears genuine to me. Lance.
