Why is it so expensive? Is there an error? I looked up pennies on eBay, then highest price to see the most expensive penny and i found this. Link:http://cgi.ebay.com/1953-one-cent-penny-/270777336696?pt=Coins_US_Individual&hash=item3f0b964378
Looks like someone is trying to strike it rich, but if you really want a 1953 penny I can give you one for half the price.
I don't need a 1953 penny. I just wanted to show this CRAZY price. Besides, I have a 1951 and 1917 penny
Just another seller being delusional. Usually, they all have low feedback...and give no info on the coin with lousy images.....this one has them all.
~reel...reel~ feed out some line...set the drag. The bait is out, now wait and see if we get any nibbles.
Yep, BR... some sellers would rather go fishing. You see these crazy auctions all the time on eBay; most of the time it's just a gimmick to draw attention to their store or other (realistically priced) items. However, this guy has never sold anything, and the coin is his only listing. I guess he's just having some fun, getting people on coin forums to talk about him.
Expensive 1953 penny All the info says is "1953 one cent penny." It doesn't say anything about an error.
LOL I accidentally double clicked when I opened the link and clicked BIN! Good thing I wasn't logged in.
If I got $890,000 or even $445,000 for just a normal 1953 Wheat Penny I’d offer free shipping too! :too-funny:
The seller posted the same penny again for $9,000. Link: http://www.ebay.com/itm/1953-one-cent-penny-/270794133641?pt=Coins_US_Individual&hash=item3f0c969089
1953 Wheat cents are worth between $9,000 and $890,000 now? Wait till I tell my wife how rich we are. :thumb:
Hey I've got two for the same price. Free shipping? ****, I'll hand deliver them wearing nothing but a gold lame thong and spinning bowtie.
