Congrats on your accomplishment. 10 years to me is an epic undertaking to complete this set. Please explain to me what the
First Day Covers consist of. Are they slabbed P, D, and S mint or BU P, D, and S mints?
All I have are the BU P's and D's.

Nice work. Too bad it doesn't even retain the invested cost. I stopped myself from buying more of these after getting about half way through. It didn't help to eventually see the mint lower their prices in response to the drop in interest and frankly fatiguing/unexciting aspects of these issues. Maybe someday they will rise in value, but it looks to me like that will be a *long* time off - probably after we no longer care. Of those I did get, it turns out that the one I didn't get was the only one that I know caries a premium - Delaware. I'll never pay that premium now, just on principle. Good luck with your sale efforts and just say 'NO!' to more of the same. :)

Hey Guys, Thanks for the compliments. It was a huge undertaking that really didn't pay off. I didn't expect the set to really be super valuable, but I didn't think that it would drop either!!! I did end up selling it, but for half of what I paid! That sucked, but I needed to money to purchase other coins. Over the past year and a half, I have been divesting my collection and getting rid of coins that I have no interest in or don't have value. My collection is more focused now, but in order to do it I had to sell off some things and this was one of those sets. Even at a loss, it still meant that I was able to move on and buy some really nice coins. This is the item that I purchased. IMG_LIB1.JPG IMG_LIB2.JPG IMG_LIB3.JPG

I loved this medal and always wanted one, but never had the funds. Now I did and I bought it. Ultra High Relief with Ultra Cameo Proof from the 1892 Columbus Expo. It is a very difficult item to find and they are very seldom on ebay. Hope you all enjoy it.

THAT medal was well worth your selling of 'modern crap' to buy (no offense to modern collectors....I have some myself). Just look at that medal when you think about the loss you took, and that medal will make you realize it was a net gain. Great medal...one of my favorite medals!

You are absolutely right! I think that every time I look at it.

For those of you that are interested, this is call the Liberty Head So-Called Dollar. These came in Bronze, gilt and Aluminum, as well as high and low relief and proof and business strike versions......and none of them are easy to find. They all have a R5-R6 rarity rating. An R5 is 76-200 pieces known to exist and R6 is 21-75 pieces known to exist. This SCD is an R5. Prices typically run between $700-1200 for these. This is a keeper in my collection.

    Hey Ken, Bruce and Vessy!

You made the right decision. I'm with Krispy, quality over quantity ANY day.
